Belgian Science and Technology Online Resources (Bestor), the research program Scientific Personae in Cultural Encounters and the University of Leuven’s Research Group Cultural History since 1750 are jointly organizing the international workshop “Heroic journeys? Networks of women scientists in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century”.
SPICE meets the Scholarly Self: Discussing the scientific persona as an analytical tool

On Friday December 12th the members of the international project Scientific Personae in Cultural Encounters (Wallenberg Foundation) and the NWO project The Scholarly Self met to discuss central concepts that they share. During this one day seminar, both projects presented their ideas as to how in particular the concept of ‘scientific persona’ can be understood and used as an analytical tool in current research into the history of science.
SPICE kick-off meeting

September 18th marked the beginning of project SPICE. For the occasion, a seminar was held in Stockholm, where the new PhD's were introduced. There also were many discussions on the concept of persona and how it can be used in historical research.
